Leaving the church declaration
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzIf you wish to leave a religious community, you must register this with the responsible office.
The registry office at the main place of residence is responsible for resigning from a church or religious community. The resignation can be declared verbally or in writing before the respective registrar. Written declarations must be public or officially notarized.
Anyone who has reached the age of 14 and is not legally incapacitated may declare their resignation. For minors under the age of 14, the parents with custody can declare their withdrawal. If a child has reached the age of twelve, withdrawal cannot be declared against their will.
You will need a valid identity card or passport to declare your withdrawal. The administration fee of 30 euros can be paid in cash or by EC or credit card (Visa, Master).
