Due to the Professional Driver Qualification Act, you as a professional driver are required to undergo special training in freight as well as passenger transport.

As proof of your qualification, a driver qualification certificate (FQN) has been issued on application since 23.05.2021. This gradually replaces the previous entry of the key number 95 in the card driver's license.

The FQN is a card similar in shape and size to the driver's license. It must be carried together with your driver's license.

The FQN is issued on

  • Acquisition of the initial qualification,
  • acquisition of the accelerated basic qualification as well as
  • Completion of the prescribed further training measure (every 5 years).

You must apply for the FQN in writing to your competent driving license authority.
