Having an expired driver's license reissued
Source: Serviceportal Rheinland-PfalzDriving licenses issued from 19.01.2013 are valid for 15 years.
If the validity of the driving license is about to expire or has expired, you must apply for a new driving license, unless you renounce the driving license.
However, the time limit only affects the driving license document, not the underlying driving license.
