Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzThe districts and independent cities are responsible for school transport. In principle, all pupils are entitled to school transport if they are resident in Rhineland-Palatinate and cannot reasonably be expected to travel to school without using a means of transport.
Regardless of the type of school attended, the type and degree of disability must also be taken into account when determining the reasonableness of the journey to school. When transporting pupils with special educational needs on the school bus, accompanying persons must be provided if this is necessary according to the type and degree of disability.
In the case of additional disability-related expenses, there may be an individual entitlement to integration assistance benefits in individual cases.
