can take place.
Bulky household waste (bulky waste) refers to bulky furnishings from private households (household furnishings) that cannot be placed in the gray waste garbage can even after reasonable shredding. Residual waste, even if it is packed in bags or cardboard boxes, is not bulky waste.
Bulky waste can be delivered personally on two dates.
- A weight-based waste charge is levied for deliveries of bulky waste by non-private waste collectors!
There is also the option of free collection by Remondis. Each household can arrange two free appointments per year. It makes sense for tenants and owners' associations to join forces and request collection for a property together.
What quantities can I deliver or have collected?
The total amount of bulky waste per household and collection may not exceed a volume of 5 cubic meters. Individual items may not weigh more than 50 kilograms or be longer than 1.5 meters.
Bulky wasteincludes e.g:
Bed frames, ironing boards, garden and balcony furniture, baby carriages, mattresses, upholstered furniture, wardrobes, table tennis tables, unglued carpeting, electronic and electrical appliances (see also information sheet on electronic waste) from the household sector such as radios, televisions, computers, microwave ovens, vacuum cleaners, refrigerators and kitchen appliances.
What does not count as bulky waste?
Not all bulky waste is bulky waste: materials that were firmly attached or glued to building structures such as carpets, wallpaper, door frames, laminate and similar are construction site waste. This is not collected, but must be disposed of for a fee.
Old clothes, car tires, car parts, bathtubs, roofing felt, bottles, foil, cardboard boxes, crates, polystyrene (Styropor®), residual waste in bags, doors and similar items are also not considered bulky waste. Building rubble and hazardous waste such as night storage heaters, fluorescent tubes, energy-saving light bulbs and car batteries are also excluded from collection.
If you are not sure, you can find important disposal information in the Waste ABC.

Clarify in advance: Specify the items and parts you wish to dispose of. This allows us to quickly clarify what actually belongs to the bulky waste and what volume will be generated. This enables our partner to optimize capacity and route planning.
Please note: It is not possible to register bulky waste directly with EWL by telephone.
Place your bulky waste at the boundary of the property on the agreed date. Separate into furniture wood, metal, electrical appliances and "residual bulky waste". These fractions are collected on the same day, but by different vehicles. Please only place your bulky waste at the edge of the sidewalk in such a way that no one is hindered and under no circumstances on another property.
Items registered for bulky waste collection must be ready for collection no earlier than the evening before (7 pm) and no later than 6 am. This all helps to ensure that the collection is carried out quickly and smoothly.
Our partner's employees work thoroughly and cleanly. They also know what is permitted bulky waste and leave out any unauthorized items. It is the responsibility of the requesting household to remove any items left behind and clean the collection area afterwards.
