University Application information

An online application form is used to apply for a study place:

1. Registration
2. Upload the application documents (depending on the degree program) and submit the application

You will be informed by the university or hochschulstart.de about the result of the application and document review.

• You must have a university entrance qualification valid for Rhineland-Palatinate.
• If you can demonstrate outstanding academic or artistic aptitude, the university entrance qualification may be waived for the relevant degree programs.
• In order to be able to study in a higher semester, you must have already been enrolled in the same or a similar degree program at another university and be able to demonstrate suitable achievements and skills.
• To apply for a Master's degree course, you must in most cases meet further admission requirements, which will be communicated to you by the university and are regulated in the examination regulations of your desired degree course.

• Completed application form
• Valid university entrance qualification and/or Master's entrance qualification
• If applicable, proof of complete study history
• Proof of academic achievements, if applicable
• If applicable, proof of further documents, depending on the degree program

There are no costs for a first degree course. Tuition fees are charged for a second degree or a senior degree.

The legally prescribed application deadlines apply for degree programs with admission restrictions. For other degree programs, the deadlines set by the respective university apply.

Deadlines for submitting an application for admission are cut-off deadlines. They are set and published by the university depending on the degree program and procedure.

The processing time varies within the legally prescribed deadlines depending on the degree program. Processing is usually completed by the start of the semester.

The general and special admission requirements for the desired degree program must be met.

The form and deadline must be strictly adhered to.

Incorrect information can lead to exclusion from the procedure.

In some cases, you can claim compensation for disadvantages or a case of hardship when applying for a place on a degree program with restricted admission. This may result in an improvement in your grade or your waiting time. This can increase your chances of being admitted to the course. If you have the relevant evidence, such as a school report or a medical certificate, you can submit an application to improve your grade or waiting time when you apply and submit it to the university of your choice. Please also submit the reports with your application.
