Homelessness Help with imminent loss of housing
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzYou may lose your home for a variety of reasons (e.g. due to an eviction action, termination without notice by the landlord, a fire or water damage).
You can seek help to prevent the imminent loss of your home. Depending on the individual case, rent debts can be taken over or negotiations can be held with the landlord to keep your apartment.
If you have already lost your home, i.e. if you are acutely homeless, you can first be given a place in emergency accommodation. An attempt will then be made to find you an apartment.
You will also receive help if it is urgently necessary for you to rent a new apartment and your own financial means are not sufficient to pay the costs incurred and the possibilities of self-help have been exhausted. In individual cases, for example, the deposit, a security deposit or the estate agent's commission can be pre-financed. The financial assistance is usually granted as a loan. The requirements to be met may vary from municipality to municipality. Therefore, please enquire locally.
Note: If you are interested in social housing, you will need a certificate of eligibility for housing.
