As part of the inter-municipal cooperation, a joint fines office for the districts of Bernkastel-Wittlich, Cochem-Zell, Eifelkreis and Vulkaneifelkreis was set up on 01.07.2023. Fines in the areas of the Crafts Code, Aliens Act, Weapons Act, Federal Hunting Act, Animal Welfare Act, Foodstuffs and Commodities Act, State Building Code, State Care Act, Recycling and Waste Management Act, School Act, Youth Protection Act, etc. have been imposed centrally by the Bernkastel-Wittlich district administration(https://www.bernkastel-wittlich.de/kreisverwaltung/fachbereiche/sicherheit-und-ordnung/bussgeldstelle/) since this date. Previously pending fine proceedings are still processed by the former fines office of the Eifel district.
