Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzChildren between the ages of 0 and 14 can be cared for in day care. You need a permit for day care if you want to care for a child or several children outside the household of the legal guardian during part of the day and for more than 15 hours a week for more than 3 months against payment.
The permit for child day care
- is granted by the local youth welfare office,
- is limited to 5 years,
- can be provided with additional conditions,
- authorizes you to care for up to 5 foreign children present at the same time.
Who can work in child day care?
All childminders in the Eifel district of Bitburg-Prüm must be appropriately qualified. If you do not have a professional qualification in accordance with the professional agreement for day care centers in Rhineland-Palatinate, we can offer you appropriate qualification courses.
The qualification is necessary as child day care not only includes care and supervision, but also the upbringing, education and support of children (§ 23, 24 SGB VIII in conjunction with § 43 SGB VIII).
The content of the qualification, which ends with a certificate of completion, includes, for example, the tasks and everyday life of a day carer, child development, the educational role of day care and legal and financial principles.
