Extension of a driving license for passenger transport with a limited period of validity
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzThe driving license for passenger transport (FzF) is issued for a maximum of five years and can be extended for up to five years at the holder's request.
Please note: If the application is submitted after the expiry date of the FzF, an extension is no longer possible. A new FzF must be applied for.

- Mental and physical aptitude
- fulfillment of the requirements for eyesight
- personal reliability
- after the age of 60, additional resilience, orientation, concentration, attentiveness and responsiveness
- Official proof of place and date of birth (e.g. identity card or passport)
- Current registration certificate, if applicable
- EU/EEA driver's license
- Certificate of good conduct for submission to an authority (service description in the Hessenfinder)
- Current information from the driving aptitude register
- Proof of physical and mental aptitude
- Proof of fulfillment of the vision requirements
- Proof of resilience, orientation, concentration, attentiveness and responsiveness (if extended beyond the age of 60)
The fee is based on the scale of fees for road traffic measures (GebOSt).
