Fine
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzIn many areas, fines are used as a sanction to alert those affected to their misconduct and to motivate them to comply with the regulations in the future.
The prosecution and punishment of administrative offenses is another way of enforcing compliance with public law regulations in addition to onerous administrative acts and administrative compulsion. The imposition of fines is intended in particular as a reminder of the obligations arising from a wide variety of laws for a wide variety of areas of life.
On 01.07.2023, a cross-territorial joint fines office was set up as part of inter-municipal cooperation (IKZ). Since then, all fine proceedings in the districts of Cochem-Zell, Vulkaneifel and Bitburg-Prüm have also been processed by the Bernkastel-Wittlich district administration.
Essentially, these are the following laws for which the Bernkastel-Wittlich district administration is responsible:
Food law, waste law, law to combat illegal employment, nature conservation and landscape conservation, building law, animal protection, animal diseases, hunting law, weapons and explosives law, fishing law, residence law, school law, water law, etc.
