Inspection of the matrimonial property register
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzThe matrimonial property register contains the matrimonial property regimes agreed between the spouses, i.e. separation of property and community of property or their annulment. Anyone is permitted to inspect the register without having to demonstrate a legitimate interest.
If it is not only a question of the entry itself (e.g. the existence of a corresponding marriage contract), but also of its exact content, the register files must be inspected, for which a legitimate interest must be substantiated. You can apply for a copy of the entry. This can also be certified. It is advisable to make an appointment in advance by telephone or to submit the application in writing.
