• The responsible Structural and Approval Directorate North or South, Rhineland-Palatinate, will explain the permit procedure for withdrawing water from surface waters.
• You prepare the application documents with the help of a specialist planner and submit them.
• The responsible Structural and Approval Directorate North or South checks your application documents. If necessary, you submit any additional documents required.
• The responsible Structural and Approval Directorate North or South checks your subsequently submitted documents.
• The responsible Structural and Approval Directorate North or South will issue a notice of approval or rejection on the basis of the reviewed and, if applicable, subsequently submitted application documents.
• You will receive the decision together with a notification of fees.
• You pay the administrative fee.
  

In Rhineland-Palatinate, the Structural and Approval Directorate North and the Structural and Approval Directorate South are responsible.
