Free charging
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzIf you own things that you no longer need and that are too bad to throw away, you can drop them off at a free store. In these locally bound projects, often also called Kost-Nix-Laden or Schenkladen, you can still pass on usable items to others or, conversely, take things provided free of charge. As a rule, the transport of the items is not bound by strict tests, as is often the case with food banks and clothing stores. Thus, items change hands that would otherwise simply have to be disposed of or bought new. Free shops are often organized by associations, mainly in larger cities.
