Hand in your driver's license
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzIf you have been issued with a fine notice, a driving ban may have been imposed by the fining authority as a secondary consequence. This may mean that you have to surrender your driver's license to the office of the fining authority or have it handed back to you under the conditions specified in the fine notice.
Please contact the fines office. In exceptional cases, you can also contact the police.

The driving ban takes effect no later than four months after it becomes legally binding (14 days after notification of the fine notice). You are liable to prosecution (driving without a license) if you still drive a motor vehicle.
