Located between Cologne and Frankfurt, the Rhine-Lahn district is one of the most scenic spots in Germany: this is where the foothills of the Westerwald and Taunus meet, where the gentle Lahn flows through unspoiled nature, where the world-famous Loreley and the cradle of the Dutch royal family are located, and where you can see and experience why Unesco has declared both the Upper Middle Rhine Valley and the Upper Germanic-Raetian Limes a World Heritage Site.
The Rhine-Lahn district promotes local tourism via its Rhine-Lahn Economic Development Corporation through
- various advertising measures (such as the publication of brochures about cycle paths, castles, museums, churches, the Way of St. James and the Limes)
- Project grants (e.g. promotion of tourist information signs)
- Memberships in tourism associations (such as the Lahntal Tourism Association and the Loreley Valley Tourism Association)
