To initiate a conciliation procedure, you must submit an application. The application form is also available in plain language. Your application must contain the following information:
- the facts of the case (the situation in which you have experienced an impairment),
- the objective you wish to achieve with the conciliation procedure,
- your name and address and
- the name and address of the federal public body
You can submit the application online, by post, in German sign language via the SQAT service or in person on site by appointment.
If you submit the application online:
-
Fill in all fields of the
online form
and follow the instructions.
- The conciliation body will then contact you.
If you are submitting the application by post:
- Download the application and print it out.
- Complete the application, enclose the required documents and send it to the conciliation body by post or e-mail.
You can also send your application to the conciliation body by e-mail or submit an application in German sign language via the SQAT service.
- Click on the SQAT symbol on the website of the BGG conciliation body. Then record a video in German sign language. This will be converted into an email by a service provider.
- The response from the conciliation body will also be converted into a sign language video
You can submit the application verbally directly on site at the conciliation body:
- Go to the conciliation body after making an appointment and say that you would like to submit a conciliation request.
- The staff on site will then initiate the conciliation procedure for you.
This is how the conciliation procedure works:
- After you have submitted the application, the employee will check your application and also write to the public body.
- You will then receive a reply from the public authority and can respond to this.
- The conciliator will suggest an answer that you can send to the public authority.
- Sometimes you may also be invited to a mediation meeting.
- Once you have reached an agreement, the conciliation procedure is over.
- If you are unable to reach an agreement, you will receive a letter stating that the conciliation procedure was unsuccessful
