Apply for energy saving exemption from the requirements

In the case of new construction and refurbishment of residential buildings, the requirements of the Building Energy Act (GEG) must be complied with in principle. The measures required by the JIT are generally economically feasible. Only in the event of special circumstances can the lower building inspectorate responsible for the construction project in question grant exemptions and exemptions from the provisions of the Energy Saving Ordinance upon request.

The applicant shall provide the competent authority with appropriate evidence setting out why it is not possible for him to comply with the requirements. This will only be possible in exceptional cases, the proof of only one uneconomic variant is not sufficient.

The construction of highly efficient buildings is often more economical than the construction according to the minimum standard also because there are attractive funding possibilities for this.
